Parking just outside the main shopping area, a 5 to 10 minute walk, easy to access and without the difficulties in the other town centre parking options. Please note that in incliment weather this parking is liable to flood, hence the parking machines are situated up a set of steps off the ground. While pay by phone options are available, I’d suggest that anyone with disabilities parked elsewhere.

Fabulous now that it accepts Motorhomes again. Best to pre book. £20 per night with access to fresh water and a wc drain.

We always park here when we visit Ambleside. It’s a very well placed car park, and even when it’s busy we usually find a space. It’s good for shopping in town, a quick stop off for lunch (good cafe by tge entrance). It’s also a good start and finish point for a circular walk up Latrigg and back via the caves at Rydal.

Guaranteed to flood with sewage when the river is high, but convenient for the park, several walks, and Ambleside shops.

Good car park would be better if there were some onside facilities.

Doesn't take card. There is a card reader at the machine but it doesn't work. At any of the machines. Parking Prices are pretty good, a bit steep but it's in a good area. There's also plenty of spaces, I even found a spot on bank holidays.

Good location but only 3 pay machines and 2 not working. Even the one that wast had a very prominate notice saying it wasn't working and use one of the other machines (that were not working). Is it only me that has difficulty understanding such stuff? The local council needs to get their act together. Oh and in the conditions of parking one says DO NOT PARK IN MARKED BAYS !!! Where should you park if not in the marked bays?

We only used the daytime parking which was reasonably priced for The Lakes town centre. I did think the Aire was a little overpriced though at £20 per night (only cheaper if you do more than 2 nights) obviously people are prepared to pay that though as it was full.
